Jose
Jose was owned by Sandie, who still boards Sarge and Reliance with us. She is a standardbred mare who came from New Vocations (a race horse rescue organization). Sandie was hoping to bred Jose to a Jack. She was returned to New Vocations in the fall of 2006 when it was determined that she was too difficult to bred. She's pictured here on the circle track that loops around in the woods on the back of the property.
Flick
Flick was the first horse to move into the Equine Charm School. This coming two year old was purchased in February 2004 for $300.00. He had very little handling and was quite wild. Shortly after we brought him home, he was in the paddock (shown above) and something spooked him, he bolted and ran smack into a 4 x 4 fence post, creaming his right shoulder. He was three legged lame for six months. When he recovered enough to begin walking outside all he would do is rear up, rear up, and rear up. He had many bad habits, including: striking, bucking, pulling, and biting (constantly). Following a vet check in July of 2005 (including x-rays and dental exam), Janet began working Flick under saddle (see him on the training page). In the fall of 2005 he was sold but continued to board with us. In the summer of 2006, his new owner decided she just didn't have time for him and we got him back. Shortly after, we traded Flick for Diamond (see horses we own). Flicks new name is Wyatt and his new owners will take him along when they move to Arizona. His old bad habits are gone and he's matured into a super nice horse.
Oakey
Oakey (pictured on the far left) was Milo's first friend (horse on the far right). This was the first time Milo had ever been turned out with other horses and he and Oakey bonded immediately. Unfortunately, his owner moved in 2005 and Oakey left us. He is greatly missed. We hope he is doing well.
